About this Indica Strain

Its smell and taste are of pine and earthy, with undertones of tangy citrus. Its buds are heart-shaped and jungle deep green, with amber pisitils and opaque trichomes. It derives its name from its resemblance to a pear cactus.

The parent strains of Cactus are both indica: Northern Lights and Afghani.

THC levels of Cactus believe to average between 15%-20% because of its potency noted by reviewers, though it has not yet been officially lab tested. Its high will produce a balance of the mind and body, with a boost in motivation and liberation. It can be consumed throughout the day despite being indica – it will not cause sedation or couch-lock. However, slight lazy waves may occur once the high begins to wear down. The body will be relieved of tension and aches, with many reviewers highlighting its ability to numb pains.

Negative side-effects include dry mouth and eyes, with slight paranoia if consumed improperly.

Cannabissearch.com Buzz Rating: Cactus will prick your senses with a potent body high and slightly less noticeable cerebral effects. A great strain for nighttime use that may induce couch-lock in some users.

Cactus was created by breeding an Afghani landrace male to a Northern Lights IBL mother, to create a mostly indica hybrid with incredible potency and a classic indica hash flavor. These nugs are fairly tight and are very large and swollen in size. They have pink/orange pistils and an above average amount of trichomes. Cactus has a classic Afghani aroma of earth, spice and hash, with very similar – if not identical – flavors.

Because the yield on these ladies is so abysmally low, it’s recommended to vegetate them at least 8 weeks. When vegetated this long they will not usually reach over 5 feet in height and will produce an average yield, compared to a very low yield when vegetated around a month or less. Cactus is resistant to most pests, but can contract PM if adequate ventilation is not utilized. Some growers also put these ladies into a Sea of Green grow in order to maximize the yield. It will definitely be recommended to use some sort of advanced carbon filtration system as this strain can stink up an entire block, under the right circumstances. Growers should take delight in the fact that these ladies put out cuttings that take root very rapidly, usually within a week of being transplanted in rock wool.
