Did you talk to Rinoa in the Infirmary and flashback to Laguna where you talk to Ellone? If not try that, go talk to Edea and she will say something about the White SeeD Ship and it will be in the same place as it is every time

As SwordMaster pointed out, you need to make sure you’re actually supposed to be looking for it. The White SeeD ship is mentioned before you’re actually supposed to find it.
After you fist talk to Edea and make your announcement to the rest of Garden, you need to visit Rinoa in the infirmary, which triggers the 4th Laguna scenario (involving a movie, and some ruby dragons). After that, you go talk to Edea again about finding the ship.
Only once you’ve done that does the ship even exist on the world map.
Aside from that, the ship is hard to see if the camera is at the wrong angle. To describe it’s location the simplest way, on the left side of the Centra continent there’s a sort of hand-like shape. Where the “wrist” would be, and slightly south there’s a semi-large island shaped like a “U”, the ship is in the cove formed by this island, in a sort of little off-shoot cove. If you hug the edge of that island and circle it, you’ll find it eventually. For Final Fantasy VIII on the PlayStation, a GameFAQs message board topic titled "Where is the White Seed SHip?".

Story [ edit | edit source ]
Edea served as the captain of the ship, but before long, many children were brought onboard, and it became somewhat of an orphanage.
Following the Sorceress War, Edea Kramer and her husband, Cid Kramer operated an orphanage on the Centra continent to care for the children left parentless by the conflict. One day a dying Sorceress Ultimecia and a teenage Squall Leonhart appeared from the future due to a time warp. Mortally wounded, Ultimecia transferred her sorceress power to Edea. The teenage Squall told Edea he was a SeeD, an organization he claimed was founded by Edea herself, and then disappeared back into the time portal.
Bewildered by these events, Edea gathered that some time in the future Squall would fight Ultimecia, and to make this prophecy come true, she and Cid would need to start the SeeD to train him and the others to become strong enough to one day face this destiny. Cid was skeptical and feared the SeeD would one day want to fight Edea, due to her being a sorceress as well. So Edea, along with Ellone—a girl they wanted to keep hidden from Esthar and Dr. Odine—and a number of orphans, went into hiding on the White SeeD Ship, its orphans becoming known as the White SeeD. Edea led the ship as its captain.
Cid and Edea could no longer be together, and Cid concealed his marriage to a sorceress. One day Sorceress Ultimecia from the future, using Junction Machine Ellone to send her consciousness back in time, possessed Edea, and she left the White SeeD Ship. One of the elder White SeeD, known simply as the “leader”, took over the position of leading the faction in Edea’s absence. The White SeeD and Ellone journeyed to Balamb Garden, perhaps to warn Cid that something is wrong with his wife. Ellone and a couple of White SeeDs stay with the Garden, and when Ellone is cornered by a monster in the Garden training center, the White SeeD come to her aid.
After the Garden is made mobile and is left adrift on the open seas, the White SeeD Ship intercepts Balamb Garden in the ocean near Fishermans Horizon. The White SeeDs come aboard the Garden to retrieve Ellone, as they do not believe Balamb Garden is a safe place for her to be anymore. The ship then disappears to places unknown.
Later, Squall is looking for Ellone and is desperate to find the White SeeD Ship. Edea, who is no longer possessed by Ultimecia, knows where the ship usually hides, and Squall locates the ship and boards it. After initially scorning Squall and asking him to leave, the White SeeD accept him and help him once they read the letter Edea gave him. Ellone is no longer on the ship; she has gone over to Esthar. While on the ship, Squall can learn more of the story of Hyne from a story a White SeeD tells, and meet Watts and Zone again. Watts tells the party that he has learned that Galbadia recently “dredged up some huge monolith from the sea”, referring to the Lunatic Pandora.

Overview [ edit | edit source ]
Ship on the world map.
The White SeeD Ship is a medium-sized wooden vessel with large white wings at the back.
When it comes time for Squall and his team to find it, the White SeeD Ship is docked in a western cove among the Centra Crater ruins. After the player enters the Fishermans Horizon after leaving the White SeeD Ship, the ship disappears from the world map and can never be found again. Thus, the player needs to check the Timber Maniacs magazine on board to not miss an achievement in the game versions that have achievement systems.
Bow [ edit | edit source ]
At the very front of the ship is a female White SeeD giving a lesson to two children, who are at first nervous about speaking with Squall, having been told not to speak to strangers. The player can listen to the story of Hyne along with the children. The White SeeD Ship is a ship in Final Fantasy VIII.
